2006 February Sweeps February 22 Listings

(Show titles in the larger size are the shows I recommend; reruns are not listed; all times are in the Mountain Time Zone)

7 PM:

“George Lopez” (ABC; ends at 7:30 PM)-George tries to teach his niece Veronica (guest star Aimee Garcia), whose multi-million dollar inheritance he controls, a lesson in the value of hard work by putting her to work at the factory.

“Still Standing” (CBS; ends at 7:30 PM)

“XX Olympic Winter Games” (NBC; ends at 10:30 PM)-Alpine skiing: women's slalom final; freestyle skiing: women's aerials final; speed skating: women's 1500m; snowboarding: men's parallel giant slalom.

“American Idol 5” (FOX; ends at 9 PM)-Of the 24 semifinalists chosen last week, the Top 12 boys will perform for America for the first time.  Then it’s up to the viewers to vote for their favorites.  Mandisa rocked last night!  She is definitely my favorite female so far.  I think that Stevie Scott, who sang that Josh Groban song, and Heather Cox, who did the ensemble song from last season, “When You Tell Me That You Love Me,” will be the first ladies to go.

“South Beach” (UPN; ends at 8 PM)-Season finale.

Orange County (WB; ends at 9 PM)-2002 comedy starring Colin Hanks and Jack Black.

7:30 PM:

“Freddie” (ABC; ends at 8 PM)-Freddie is torn between two women he finds irresistible and just can't choose one, try though he might.  Chris suggests dating each girl to find out who is right for him.  Freddie is excited about Rose (guest star Tamara Braun), who is fun and impulsive like him, but he's also charmed by Denise's (guest star Denise Quiqones) caring heart and sensitivity.  However, when these women learn that he's dating both of them, will either want to stay?

“Still Standing” (CBS; ends at 7:30 PM)-Second new episode.

8 PM:

“Project Runway 2” (Bravo; ends at 9 PM)-All 16 contestants reunite to size up their personal highs and woes during the various challenges, as well as to reflect on how the show has impacted their lives.  Also included: previously unaired footage.

9 PM:

“Project Jay” (Bravo; ends at 10 PM)-A witty, candid and unscripted look at the life of Jay McCarroll, the Season 1 winner of “Project Runway,” features the chain-smoking reality star's efforts to launch his artsy design line by moving from his small Pennsylvania town to New York City.  Included: McCarroll talks about his newfound celebrity (“There's no handbook for fame,” he says); searches for work space in the Big Apple; works with Lisa Kudrow; and runs into former castmates Austin Scarlett, Wendy Pepper, and Kara Saun.

11:30 PM:

“Drawn Together” (Comedy Central; ends at 12 AM)-Captain Hero's competitive nature gets the best of him in preparation for the AIDS walk; Wooldoor's sweet tooth spells trouble at the mall.

Watching/Recording Suggestions:

At 7 PM, watch “American Idol 5;” record “George Lopez”/“Freddie” on TiVo.  At 8 PM, watch the rest of “American Idol 5.”  At 9 PM, watch “Project Jay.”  At 10 PM, watch “Project Runway 2” when it repeats at this time on Bravo.  At 11:30 PM, watch “Drawn Together
