“Disaster Zone: Volcano in New York” (Sci-Fi Channel; ends at 9 PM)-An illegal experiment drilling deep for geothermal energy in lower Manhattan stirs up the magma in the Earth's core. Volcanic activity erupts in spots throughout NYC. The mayor and federal agents think the damage is caused by terrorism. A tunnel worker (Costas Mandylor) and his scientist ex-wife (Alexandra Paul) know the truth and devise a do-or-die plan which could save New York before the city becomes the next Pompeii. They assemble a team and go deep underground in a last ditch effort to stop the molten lava. Also starring Michael Ironside.
