2006 February Sweeps February 26 Listings

(Show titles in the larger size are the shows I recommend; reruns are not listed; all times are in the Mountain Time Zone)

6 PM:

“America's Funniest Home Videos” (ABC; ends at 7 PM)

“60 Minutes” (CBS; ends at 7 PM)

“XX Winter Olympic Games” (NBC; ends at 10 PM)-Closing ceremony; cross-country skiing.

7 PM:

“Dancing With the Stars 2” (ABC; ends at 9 PM)-The two-hour second season concludes with one more routine each from Stacy Keibler, Drew Lachey, and Jerry Rice.  Also: the eliminated celebrities return for an encore performance, and Mary J. Blige sings “Family Affair.”  Host Samantha Harris will also make her ballroom dancing debut as she dances the jive, led by professional dancer Jonathan Roberts.  I'm rooting for Drew!

“Cold Case” (CBS; ends at 8 PM)-After several banks have been robbed, clues surface that might help Lilly and the team close the 2000 case involving a bank teller who was murdered.  Lilly finds a link from a recent string of bank robberies where the thieves wore Johnny Cash masks that may provide new information on the murder of a young bank teller who was killed during an almost identical robbery in the year 2000.  However, Lilly's trail runs cold and now the team must retrace each step of the 2000 case in order to find the killer at large.

“The Simpsons” (FOX; ends at 7:30 PM)-The Simpsons open up their home to Groundskeeper Willy after Bart accidentally destroys his house, but soon after his arrival, Willy’s poor manners become the focus of a bet between Bart and Lisa, as she takes on the challenge of turning him into a proper gentleman.  Meanwhile, Homer rips his favorite blue pants and starts an ambitious advertising campaign to reestablish the discontinued garment.

“Charmed” (WB; ends at 8 PM)

“Celebrity Fit Club 3” (VH1; ends at 8:30 PM)-90-minute season finale.  The team with the most improved fitness levels earns a 10-pound credit, leading things to get heated between Kelly's Bellies and Ebony Flame.  Then, the winning team is named at the final weigh-in.

7:30 PM:

“The War at Home” (FOX; ends at 8 PM)

8 PM:

“#1 Single” (E!; ends at 8:30 PM)-Lisa finds herself in unexpected places looking for love, and she begins to think an old friend might mean more to her than she realized.

8:30 PM:

“American Dad” (FOX; ends at 9 PM)-Season finale.  Because of Stan’s bad prom experience, he’s overly excited to attend Francine’s high school reunion and finally have his dance with the Homecoming Queen, but when Francine learns her title was a mistake, Stan must choose between his wife and the dance of his dreams.  Back at home, Steve and Roger seek enlightenment from a delivery boy.  Jon Cryer and Jeremy Sisto make guest voice appearances.

“Flavor of Love” (VH1; ends at 9:30 PM)-The remaining three girls' parents are flown in to meet Flav.  Afterward, one contestant is eliminated.

9 PM:

“Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC; ends at 10 PM)-Meredith and George suddenly find themselves at odds at work.  Meanwhile Bailey, although technically still on maternity leave, finds herself treating Addison for an unusual feminine issue, and Alex finds himself oddly jealous when Izzie pays more attention to Denny.  Why, Why, WHY would Meredith sleep with George??  Doesn't she know how in love with her he is?

1 AM:

“Moral Orel” (Adult Swim; ends at 1:15 AM)-A boy with God on his side need fear nothing, which makes for a boring Halloween...but Orel has a solution.
