My Name is Earl (NBC; ends at 7:30 PM)-It’s a special episode as Earl celebrates his birthday.  The day not only marks another exciting year in his life, but more importantly, it’s also a time for Earl to reflect on all the items he’s crossed off his list during the past year.  When Randy throws Earl a birthday party at the Crab Shack, however, Earl finds it hard to remember the good things he’s done when everybody at the party keeps reminding him of how he’s screwed up in the past.  Right when Earl thinks his day can’t get any worse, everybody has a special birthday surprise in store for him.

C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS; ends at 9 PM)-The miniature killer reveals he/she is still at large by sending Grissom an especially chilling miniature that forewarns a woman and her cat are scheduled to die the next day.  With potentially less than a day to attempt to prevent the next murders, the C.S.I. team must quickly shake off their shock that the true miniature killer is not the late Ernie Edward Dell, who committed suicide after confessing to the slayings.  Grissom ponders why the killer deviated from his/her eerie tradition of leaving the miniature at the crime scene after the murder.  He also laments that he held up the investigation by being on sabbatical when the unmarked package with the miniature arrived for him.  Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Kathleen Quinlan (Apollo 13, "Family Law") guest stars as a retired psychotherapist who is involved in the investigation.
