2007 February Sweeps February 16 Listings

(Show titles in the larger size are the shows I recommend; reruns are not listed; all times are in the Mountain Time Zone)

7 PM:

Ghost Whisperer (CBS; ends at 8 PM)-When a jewelry store is robbed, Melinda and Delia are among the victims.  Soon after the incident, Melinda is contacted by a ghost who needs her help to contact his grieving wife.  When Melinda arrives at his home to deliver the message, she discovers that the desperate criminal who robbed the bank is there, but only after he locks her in the basement.  Trapped and fearing for her life, Melinda suddenly realizes that the ghost was also involved in the crime and is the only one who knows where the stolen money is hidden.  Brian White (Stomp the Yard) guest stars as Officer Barrett.

1 vs. 100 (NBC; ends at 8 PM)

Nanny 911 (FOX; ends at 8 PM)-Kenny and Jennifer Mills from Orlando, FL, describe their house as a disorganized, chaotic mess!  Nine-year-old Matthew is the household jokester, but sometimes he takes it a bit too far, driving Mom and Dad crazy.  Madison, age 6, is the only girl and is Mom’s little helper; however, she can be a bit dramatic in order to get attention.  Two-year-old Mason has trouble going to bed and throws tantrums when things don’t go his way, and while 1-year old Maxwell is a happy baby now, his parents want to get their problems sorted out before he starts taking after his older siblings.  Beer-drinking, football-watching Dad treats Mom like a doormat and leaves most of the parenting to her, so she’s placed a desperate call to Nanny 911 to get the children under control.  Assigned to the case by Head Nanny Lilian, Nanny Yvonne is on her way to restore order in the Mills household.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown! (CW; ends at 9 PM)

8 PM:

Close to Home (CBS; ends at 9 PM)-When a surrogate mother is found stabbed to death in her home, the biological mother of the baby is arrested and charged with murder.  At first it seems the defendant's chances of winning the case are good after she claims she was defending herself from the victim whom she portrays as a manipulative, money-hungry surrogate who was extorting money in exchange for not seeking custody of the baby.  However, the case takes an unexpected turn when evidence is uncovered which creates a possible motive for the murder.

Las Vegas (NBC; ends at 9 PM)-Things heat up at the Montecito when Sam's whale and his three wives visit town.  When Sam finds out her long lost love awakes from a 20-year coma, Delinda must be the whale's casino host for the day.  Jealousy runs rampant when Danny learns of the whale's intentions and Mike falls for one of his wives.  Meanwhile, Ed is on a mission to replace his housekeeper (guest star Sandra Bernhard) when his wife Jillian is out of town.

Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy (FOX; ends at 9 PM)-Part 1 of 2.  Terry Nelson, a rock-and-roll singer from Longview, WA, trades places with Doreen Andrews, an unappreciated housewife from Boston, MA.  Terry quickly finds out that the Andrew girls, Gina, 23, and Melissa, 21, spend their nights partying and their days sleeping, while Doreen is somewhat dismayed by Mark Nelson’s rocker ways and his original views on parenting and life.

The Soup (E!; ends at 8:30 PM)-Joel McHale makes fun of celebrity news and events.

Psych (USA; ends at 9 PM)-With Gus out of town at a corporate retreat, a bored Shawn goes to the police station looking for a case.  Vick obliges, asking Shawn to psychically track a highly ranked local tennis player who's gone missing.

9 PM:

20/20 (ABC; ends at 10 PM)

Numb3rs (CBS; ends at 10 PM)-Don and the FBI investigate the mysterious death of a mixed-martial arts fighter after he dies in the ring while training for a championship match with his sparring partner.  David's friend becomes the main suspect after the FBI learns that the victim was poisoned, and another fighter who sparred with him also died in the ring while training.  David tries to find evidence to clear the fighter even though they believe that he might have been knocking off the competition to improve his ranking in the league.  Back at the Eppes house, Charlie prepares to play in a poker tournament, even though he's a novice player.  UFC World Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz plays Tino Alva, the defending champion in the all-out fighting league.

Law & Order (NBC; ends at 10 PM)-An actress and mother is found hanging dead in her New York City apartment.  With her career on the rise and a loving husband and family, Detectives Ed Green and Nina Cassady are determined to prove that this was anything but self-inflicted.
