2007 February Sweeps February 21 Listings

(Show titles in the larger size are the shows I recommend; reruns are not listed; all times are in the Mountain Time Zone)

7 PM:

George Lopez (ABC; ends at 7:30 PM)-George, upset about being publicly humiliated at work, downs a shot of liquor along with the worm in it and hallucinates that he and Ernie are gay and about to be married to each other.

Jericho (CBS; ends at 8 PM)-Winter premiere.  Parts of Jake and Hawkins' pasts are revealed during a flashback to 36 hours before the bombs went off.  The day before the explosions, Jake is in San Diego trying unsuccessfully to make an honest living, while Hawkins' mysterious past is furthered by his association with a woman named Sarah.  Also, Emily's fiancé, Roger, heads to Chicago for a job interview that Emily is not happy about.  Meanwhile, in the present day, refugees including Roger and Sarah arrive in Jericho bringing more questions with them.

Friday Night Lights (NBC; ends at 8 PM)-The Panthers are deep into the playoffs and all players feel untouchable.  Julie drops a bomb on an unsuspecting Matt when she says she’s ready to have sex for the first time.  While Matt plans how to make the night unforgettable, Tami stumbles upon him at the supermarket buying condoms, which, needless to say, doesn’t go over too well with her.  Meanwhile, Tim’s relationship with his father takes a turn for the worse.  Drama builds when a hurtful secret is embarrassingly revealed and a family’s future hangs in the balance.

American Idol 6 (FOX; ends at 9 PM)-Of the 24 semifinalists chosen last week, the Top 12 girls will perform for America for the first time.  Then it’s up to the viewers to vote for their favorites.  Who will survive and who will go home?  Lakisha Jones is my favorite out of the girls.

Beauty and the Geek 3 (CW; ends at 8 PM)-Reunion special.  A reunion in New York brings together this season's housemates, who provide updates on their lives since leaving the show and the impact it has made, including new never-before-seen footage.

7:30 PM:

The Knights of Prosperity (ABC; ends at 8 PM)-On a weekend when Rockefeller discovers there won't be any security, the Knights finally reach the promised land: They make it inside Mick Jagger's apartment and have a ball rummaging through his treasure trove of personal possessions.  Unfortunately, their fun comes to an abrupt halt when their misguided ways leave them locked up in Mick's personal "panic" room, attempting to devise an escape plan before the rock icon's security returns.  New York's Fox5 News Anchor Ernie Anastos guest stars as himself.

8 PM:

Criminal Minds (CBS; ends at 9 PM)-The BAU team travels to Houston to investigate a series of seemingly random murders at construction sites.  At first, Hotch, Gideon, and the team believe they are dealing with a homeless vagrant who is terrorizing a Houston neighborhood slated for revitalization, but after viewing satellite photos of the crime scenes, the BAU team realizes that the UnSub left an SOS distress signal at one of the murder locations and they begin looking for a man with a military background.  Meanwhile, the team notices a distinct change in Reid's demeanor.

Deal or No Deal (NBC; ends at 9 PM)

One Tree Hill (CW; ends at 9 PM)-On the day of Prom, the residue of Nathan's pre-Prom party has serious repercussions for everyone in Tree Hill.  Haley asks Nathan for a list of his past sexual conquests.  Rachel is suspended after taking the blame for the exam she stole with Brooke.  Peyton tells Lucas she wants to skip the Prom entirely, but he refuses to take no for an answer.  Finally Mouth and Brooke must deal with dating Clean Teens on Prom night.

Top Design (Bravo; ends at 9 PM)-The interior designers must utilize yard-sale materials to create a living and working area for clients...and they'll have to measure up, for the clients are all aspiring designers themselves.  Production designer Joe Stewart serves as guest judge.

The Real World: Denver (MTV; ends at 8:30 PM)-Alex and Colie's relationship becomes more complicated by the arrival of Colie's ex Corey.  Colie tries to make Alex jealous, so Jenn and Alex respond in kind. Meanwhile, Brooke has another meltdown.

9 PM:

Lost (ABC; ends at 9 PM)-A power play ensues between Jack and "The Others" as Juliet's future hangs in the balance.  Meanwhile, Kate, Sawyer, and Karl (recurring Blake Bashoff) continue on their journey away from "Alcatraz."

C.S.I.: NY (CBS; ends at 10 PM)-The C.S.I.'s investigate a bizarre murder where a man named Noah Hubler (guest star Christian Campbell) is found buried under a sea of cash after being shot in his home and with a 20-foot ark full of people and animals in his backyard.  Mac, Danny, and Det. Flack are puzzled when they are called to a crime scene and find an ark in the murder victim's backyard full of people, live animals and rations.  During interrogation, the passengers' stories confirm that they believed that the apocalypse was upon them and the victim had promised them salvation.  Meanwhile, Stella and Sheldon investigate the death of a man who led anti-smoking protests and caught on fire while wearing a giant cigarette suit.  Golden Globe nominee Judd Nelson (The Breakfast Club) guest stars as a tobacco company PR executive named Sander Gillis who Stella questions about a murder.

Medium (NBC; ends at 10 PM)-After a dream, Allison faces a horrible question...What would you do if you learned that your 2 year-old daughter was going to die of leukemia in 20 years?  Meanwhile, Scanlon investigates a friend’s sudden death.

11:30 PM:

The Naked Trucker & T-Bones Show (Comedy Central; ends at 12 AM)-T-Bones creates an educational cartoon for kids that leaves Trucker dismayed.  Eventually, some guest musicians (Jack Black and Kyle Gass, a.k.a. Tenacious D) help them reunite.
