4 PM:

An Evening at the Academy Awards: The Arrivals (ABC; ends at 6 PM)-Special.  Film critic Richard Roeper interviews Oscar nominees and other celebrities as they arrive at the 79th Academy Awards at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.  Also reporting are George Pennacchio and Marc Brown, and Michelle Tuzee keeps an eye on the proceedings with fashion designer Randolph Duke.

Live From the Red Carpet: The 2007 Academy Awards (E!; ends at 6 PM)-Special.  A look at the stars arriving for the Academy Awards.  Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana DePandi host.

2007 Joan & Melissa at the Academy Awards (TV Guide Channel; ends at 6 PM)-Special.  Joan and Melissa Rivers conduct red-carpet interviews with Oscar attendees at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

6 PM:

Road to the Oscars 2007 (ABC; ends at 6:30 PM)-Special.  Red-carpet arrivals and interviews with Oscar nominees and other Hollywood notables.  Allyson Waterman of Lucky magazine and André Leon Talley of Vogue host.

60 Minutes (CBS; ends at 7 PM)

Dateline NBC (NBC; ends at 7 PM)

6:30 PM:

The 79th Annual Academy Awards (ABC; ends at 9:30 PM)-Special.  Ellen DeGeneres makes her inaugural hosting appearance at the 79th annual ceremonies.  Presenters include George Clooney, Cameron Diaz, Eva Green, and Hugh Jackman.  Telecast from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

7 PM:

The Amazing Race 11: All-Stars (CBS; ends at 8 PM)-The 10 remaining teams begin the second leg of the race in Ecuador and then travel to Chile where they must change a tire on a huge truck used at a copper mine.  Later, they race across a desert in 4x4s to the pit stop where one team is eliminated.

Grease: You’re the One That I Want (NBC; ends at 8 PM)-The top 10 becomes the top eight as one Danny and Sandy are eliminated at the beginning of the show.  Frankie Avalon guest stars and will perform "Beauty School Dropout" with the remaining four Sandys.  This week the Dannys are safe and America will only vote to eliminate one Sandy.

The Dresden Files (Sci-Fi Channel; ends at 8 PM)-Harry has to repay a debt to Chicago vampire Bianca, who seeks the wizard's help after surviving an assassination attempt.

8 PM:

Battlestar Galactica (Sci-Fi Channel; ends at 9 PM)-Chief Tyrol is convinced to defy Adama and start a strike.

Hogan Knows Best (VH1; ends at 8:30 PM)-Season finale.  The third season wraps up with Linda enlisting the help of animal therapists and psychics to help the Hogan pets adjust to the move to Miami.

9 PM:

Crossing Jordan (NBC; ends at 10 PM)

I’m with Rolling Stone (MTV; ends at 9:30 PM)-It's a disaster for Russell when he loses a story on rapper Lupe Fiasco.  Meanwhile, Krish goes after every writing opportunity, and Krystal goes shopping whenever possible.

9:30 PM:

An Evening at the Academy Awards: The Winners (ABC; ends at 10 PM)-Special.  Richard Roeper and Marc Brown comment on the winners at the 79th Academy Awards.  Also: Michelle Tuzee and Randolph Duke discuss celebrity outfits; George Pennacchio reports from the Governor's Ball.

10:35 PM:

The Barbara Walters Special (ABC; ends at 11:35 PM)-Special.  Walters' Academy Awards-night show features nominees Jennifer Hudson, Helen Mirren, and Eddie Murphy, as well as Oscar host Ellen DeGeneres.  It's no job for the faint of heart, DeGeneres concedes, and she tells Walters what she plans to do differently.  Murphy and Mirren discuss the risks they took for their roles in Dreamgirls and The Queen, respectively; and Hudson remarks that she wouldn't have landed her Dreamgirls role had she won "American Idol."

12:45 AM:

Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! (Adult Swim; ends at 1 AM)-Sketches, prank phone calls, and fake commercials.

1 AM:

Saul of the Mole Men (Adult Swim; ends at 1:15 AM)-Clancy and Bertrum run for king of the Mole Men; Saul joins the election on the advice of a talking rock.

Watching/Recording Suggestions:

At 4 PM, choose between watching “An Evening at the Academy Awards: The Arrivals,” “Live From the Red Carpet: The 2007 Academy Awards,” or “2007 Joan & Melissa at the Academy Awards” (the last one would be my choice.)  At 6 PM, watch “Road to the Oscars 2007”/“The 79th Annual Academy Awards.”  At 7 PM, watch “The 79th Annual Academy Awards;” record “The Amazing Race 11: All-Stars” on TiVo and “Grease: You’re the One That I Want” on VCR 1.  At 8 PM, watch “The 79th Annual Academy Awards.”  At 9 PM, watch “The 79th Annual Academy Awards”/“An Evening at the Academy Awards: The Winners;” record “The Dresden Files” on TiVo when it repeats at this time on the Sci-Fi Channel and “I’m with Rolling Stone” on VCR 1.  At 10 PM, watch “Hogan Knows Best;” record “Battlestar Galactica” on TiVo when it repeats at this time on the Sci-Fi Channel.  At 10:35 PM, watch “The Barbara Walters Special.”  At 12:45 AM, watch or TiVo “Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!”  At 1 AM, watch or TiVo “Saul of the Mole Men.”
