2007 February Sweeps February 27 Listings

(Show titles in the larger size are the shows I recommend; reruns are not listed; all times are in the Mountain Time Zone)

7 PM:

NCIS (CBS; ends at 8 PM)

Dateline NBC (NBC; ends at 8 PM)

American Idol 6 (FOX; ends at 8:30 PM)-Having survived last week’s competition, the Top 10 boys perform again for America.  After the show, the viewers will vote for their favorites.  Who will keep singing, and who will go home?  I'm still worried about Sundance...

The Gilmore Girls (CW; ends at 8 PM)-While she is in the midst of planning Lane's baby shower, Rory gets a long-awaited call from The New York Times offering her an informational interview.  Lorelai takes over the shower-planning duties, and finds herself brokering peace between Lane and Mrs. Kim over how Lane plans to raise her twins.  Logan finally admits his business disaster to Rory, who offers him her full support, but when Logan announces that he is flying to Las Vegas to blow off steam with his old college pals Colin and Finn, Rory is disappointed and worried.  When Luke discovers that Liz and T.J. are trying to sell his boat, he decides to make some changes in his life and take April on a long boat trip over the summer.  Finally, Lane is put on bed-rest and must be wheeled through Stars Hollow in her bed to attend the shower at Miss Patty's.

8 PM:

Primetime Special (ABC; ends at 9 PM)

The Unit (CBS; ends at 9 PM)-The Unit captures three Pakistani men from a Waziristan village to take in for questioning, but Jonas and his men are pursued by militia.  They take refuge in a U.S. command post staffed with mostly malcontents under the direction of a young female lieutenant who doesn't have the respect of her troops.  Jonas quickly takes control and tries to ready the men for the battle he knows is coming when the sun goes down.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC; ends at 9 PM)

Veronica Mars (CW; ends at 9 PM)-Last episode before hiatus.  Veronica catches Tim Foyle (guest star James Jordan, "Without A Trace"), breaking into Mars Investigations.  Meanwhile, Keith questions Mindy O'Dell (guest star Jamie Ray Newman, "E-Ring"), finally making her believe that Hank Landry (guest star Patrick Fabian, "Joan of Arcadia") killed her husband, and Keith arrests Landry in the middle of a class.  Later, Wallace notices Logan and Parker enjoying a nice lunch together.

The Real Housewives of Orange County (Bravo; ends at 9 PM)-Jo gives Slade some shocking news, but then has to deal with the consequences; the housewives visit an astrologer; Lauri fumes when her daughter trashes her townhouse; Jeana's children go on a shopping spree; Tammy tests the dating waters.

The Bad Girls Club (Oxygen; ends at 8:30 PM)-The claws come out when Zara informs Kerry that Aimee has been insulting her, which in turn only intensifies the feud between Zara and Aimee.

The Agency (VH1; ends at 8:30 PM)-Wilhelmina conducts a female model search.  Meanwhile, a male model is pressured to bulk up in order to book lucrative contracts.

8:30 PM:

Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (FOX; ends at 9 PM)-Series premiere.  Class is in session with a new quiz show from Mark Burnett, hosted by Jeff Foxworthy.  Unlike the typical game show that measures intelligence, the show tests adults’ lack of knowledge...as revealed by how much they’ve forgotten since elementary school.  Grownups will again find themselves in a classroom setting, revisiting their youth, as they tackle subjects they’ve already been taught, ranging from art to geography and math to social studies.  However, the players are not alone.  There is a way for contestants to “cheat” in this classroom.  The adults will have the opportunity to get some help from real grade-schoolers, who will offer what they think is the correct a-n-s-w-e-r.

The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency (Oxygen; ends at 9:30 PM)-Janice holds an open call for a fresh-faced male model to pose for a very important client.  Elsewhere, a veteran model proves her value to the agency.

9 PM:

To Iraq and Back: Bob Woodruff Reports (ABC; ends at 10 PM)-Special.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC; ends at 9 PM)-When Detective Benson investigates a rape case outside her jurisdiction, she finds herself being questioned by local Police Captain Julia Millfield (guest star Kim Delaney, “NYPD Blue”) and although she gets some answers, some are difficult to accept.  Benson also needs to discuss with police psychologist Dr. Rebecca Hendrix (guest star Mary Stuart Masterson, Benny & Joon) about some of her actions that have led to tensions with Detective Stabler and major distractions that have marred the rape case.

11 PM:

Dirt (FX; ends at 12:04 AM)-Former child star Sammy Winter (guest star Vincent Gallo) takes Lucy and her staff hostage.  As he forces them to produce an entire issue about him, Lucy tries to determine if he's a true threat or a harmless has-been looking for a career boost.  Meanwhile, Julia leaves rehab, but Holt is all the more fixated on Lucy.
