Alanis Morissette and Ryan Reynolds are no longer planning to tie the knot, with their reps saying the pair, who started dating in 2002, "remain close friends and continue to have the utmost love and admiration for each other."

George Clooney, Cameron Diaz, Eva Green, and Hugh Jackman will serve as presenters at the 79th Annual Academy Awards on Feb. 25.

Jennifer Hudson told Essence magazine she was "abused, misled and brainwashed" during her experience on "American Idol." "I just knew I had to sing my way out of it. I don't believe in looking back, and I didn't look back," the Oscar nominee said.

Russell Crowe has signed on to star as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Nottingham, an upcoming remake of the Robin Hood story from Imagine Entertainment, Daily Variety reports. Brian Grazer will produce the film, which is expected to begin shooting at the end of this year or in early 2008.

Jennifer Garner has signed on to star in a remake of the 1945 comedy Christmas in Connecticut, about a Martha Stewart-esque food writer who the world believes lives on a quaint Connecticut farm with her husband and baby, but who is actually a single woman living in New York, per Daily Variety. The ploy comes to light when a holiday meal is planned at her fake farm.

Lindsay Lohan is backing out of a starring role in the upcoming film A Woman of No Importance so that she can better focus on her recovery, her rep told tmz.com. After taking time off to enter rehab, the actor recently resumed work on the film I Know Who Killed Me. She is also slated to begin filming The Best Time of Our Lives opposite Keira Knightley this spring.

Clint Eastwood is slated to receive the Motion Picture Association of America's inaugural Jack Valenti Humanitarian Award on Tuesday during a ceremony in Washington, D.C., the organization announced Thursday.

Final ballots for the 79th Annual Academy Awards were mailed to the 5,830 voting members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Wednesday. Completed ballots must be returned by Feb. 20 in order to be counted towards the awards ceremony on Feb. 25.

Tyrese Gibson has issued a statement denying that he punched his pregnant girlfriend during an altercation earlier this month. "Please be assured that accusations of an alleged physical altercation between my girlfriend and me are absolutely false. No charges were filed," the actor said.

DreamWorks Animation and Aardman Animations have announced that they are ending their production agreement after collaborating on three feature films: 2000's Chicken Run, 2005's Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, and 2006's Flushed Away.

Quentin Tarantino will receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Awards at the 57th Annual ACE Eddie Awards on Feb. 18.

Epic Movie debuted atop the box office with $19.5 million, according to studio estimates. Smokin' Aces opened in second place, with $14.3 million and Night at the Museum clinging to third place, with $9.5 million. Catch and Release came in fourth place with an estimated $8 million, and Blood and Chocolate came in fifteenth place with an estimated $2.1 million.

Little Miss Sunshine won the Best Ensemble prize at the Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday night. Helen Mirren and Forest Whitaker have chalked up yet another round of Best Actor victories for The Queen and The Last King of Scotland, respectively. The cast of "Grey's Anatomy" was named Best TV Drama Ensemble and the cast of "The Office" was named Best TV Comedy Ensemble.

Volver won Best Picture and Best Actress honors for Penélope Cruz at the Goya Awards, Spain's equivalent of the Oscars, on Sunday. The film took home seven awards in all.

Manda Bala (Send a Bullet) won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary Film at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and Padre Nuestro won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Dramatic Film.

George Clooney is denying recent tabloid reports linking him to Pamela Anderson. "I worked with Pam seven years ago and haven't seen her since," the actor said in a statement issued by his publicist Friday.

Brad Grey failed to make the cut for the final roster of producers up for consideration in the Best Picture category at the 79th Annual Academy Awards. Nicolas Cage has been named grand marshal of the 49th Annual Daytona 500 on Feb. 18, meaning he will have the responsibility of kicking off the race with the line, "Gentleman, start your engines."

Ben Stiller and Scarlett Johansson are slated to receive this year's Hasty Pudding awards from a student drama group at Harvard University. The awards are given to actors who have made a "lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment." Johansson will receive her award Feb. 15; Stiller will get his on Feb. 23.

Marcheline Bertrand, a former actor better known for being the ex-wife of Jon Voight and mother of Angelina Jolie, died of cancer Saturday in Los Angeles, according to a statement from Jolie. Bertrand, whose biggest role came in 1983's The Man Who Loved Women, was surrounded by Jolie and Brad Pitt and her son, James Haven, when she passed away. She was 56.
