Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe have jointly filed for divorce after separating in January, People reports.

Kristin Cavallari is being eyed to take over Jessica Simpson's role as Daisy Duke in an upcoming prequel to The Dukes of Hazzard, the film's producer tells People.

Cate Blanchett has signed on to play Bob Dylan in the upcoming biopic, I'm Not There, also starring Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams. Blanchett portrays one aspect of the folk legend's personality as embodied by an androgynous singer-songwriter named Jude, per Killer Films.

Samuel Nuuyoma, governor of the Namibian province where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are awaiting the arrival of their child, is denying rumors that he said he would be naming the baby. "No. No. That's absolutely not true. I never said such a thing. Never in history," Nuuyoma told the Associated Press.

Pride & Prejudice heart-throb Matthew Macfadyen and his actress wife Keeley Hawes are expecting their second child together. Macfadyen, 31, and Hawes, 28, met on the set of BBC drama "Spooks" (also known as "MI-5" on A&E) and married in 2004. Hawes, who has a six-year-old son Miles from her first marriage to Spencer McCallum, is expecting the newest addition to the family in September.

The controversial Tom Hanks/Ron Howard movie The Da Vinci Code topped the box office with an impressive estimated $77 million and $224 million worldwide, per Sony Pictures, making it the best domestic opening ever for both Tom Hanks and Ron Howard and the second biggest worldwide opening ever after Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.  The DreamWorks 'toon Over the Hedge came in second with an estimated $37.2 million, and the Lionsgate horror movie See No Evil came in sixth with an estimated $4.3 million.

Comic actor Jack Black has confirmed he and musician wife Tanya Haden are to be parents. The couple are expecting a baby boy early next month. Black and Haden eloped in March. The couple first met while they were attending a private performing arts high school in Santa Monica, California, but were not romantically involved.

A Namibian judge dismissed charges against a South African photographer Monday, after the paparazzo was arrested for trespassing while trying to snap a picture of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and subsequently spent three days in a communal jail cell.

The Passion Of The Christ director Mel Gibson has hit out at the big screen adaptation of Dan Brown’s best-selling novel The Da Vinci Code, saying that it will make people accept the relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene as fact rather than fiction. Gibson says, "What worries me is that people will take this as fact. I'm not angry, per se, that it refutes everything I hold sacred, the foundations of my beliefs. The Da Vinci Code is an admitted work of fiction but it cleverly weaves fact into maverick theories in a way that will appear plausible to some."

Hollywood actor Bruce Willis Sunday announced at the Cannes Film Festival in France that filmmakers are ready to start shooting a fourth Die Hard movie, and they hope to have it in cinemas next year. The movie's plot had to be rewritten after last year's Hurricane Katrina tragedy, because the original screenplay involved an oil tanker explosion that sends huge waves flooding into New Orleans, Louisiana.

British film director and screenwriter Val Guest, best known for helming sci-fi classics such as The Day the Earth Caught Fire and The Quatermass Xperiment, died May 10 of prostate cancer. He was 94.
