Lindsay Lohan pled guilty Thursday to seven misdemeanor counts stemming from her two DUI arrests, one in May, one in July. Police allegedly found cocaine on Lohan both times, but in amounts less than the 0.05 grams required to file felony charges. A judge sentenced Lohan to one day in jail, 10 days of community service, and 36 months' probation. The actress was not present in court and was represented by her attorney, Blair Berk. Lohan issued a statement Thursday, stressing that she badly wants to get her life back on track and that she sees pleading guilty as a step in the right direction. "It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs," the actress said. "Recently, I relapsed and did things for which I am ashamed. I broke the law, and today I took responsibility by pleading guilty to the charges in my case." Both of Lindsay's parents weighed in on her jail sentence Thursday...and for once they agree on something. "It's really sad," Dina Lohan told E! Online's Marc Malkin exclusively. "Something bad is going to happen, I'm afraid." Her ex-husband Michael Lohan, who's logged time behind bars himself, concurred, saying, "I'm against it. Jail would probably harm Lindsay more than help her." He went on to call his daughter "a victim of her own celebrity. She is a little girl who has been used by everybody around her because of her celebrity and that's what's landed her where she is. Now, she needs a helping hand, not a sentence."

Mel Gibson got the judge's stamp of approval Thursday at his final progress report hearing in his DUI case, TMZ reports. The actor was not present in court and was represented by his attorney, Blair Berk, who filed paperwork showing Gibson had completed four and half months of AA meetings and paid all relevant fines. The judge said Gibson's attendance at AA meetings is now optional, but ordered the actor to appear at his next court date on Feb. 15.

Bridget Moynahan delivered her first child, a baby boy, Wednesday in Los Angeles, her rep announced. Her ex and the baby's father Tom Brady was not at practice with the New England Patriots Wednesday afternoon, having hopped an early morning flight bound for Los Angeles, though it's unclear whether he made it in time for the birth. The quarterback was later spotted at a Santa Monica hospital, bearing flowers.

The Toronto Film Festival is set to feature 359 films from 55 countries, including movies by Michael Moore and Kenneth Branagh, Variety reports. The festival runs Sept. 6-15.

A judge ruled Wednesday that a palimony-like lawsuit filed by Tim Burton's ex-girlfriend Lisa Marie was flawed because her complaint lacked facts to back up her allegations. The former model claims in her court documents Burton cheated her out of her rights to assets he promised her during their almost 10-year relationship, which ended in 2001. The judge gave Marie 10 days to revise her lawsuit.
