Foxy Brown was sentenced to a year in jail Friday for repeatedly violating probation in connection with the 2004 fracas she started at a New York nail salon by refusing to pay full price for a mani-pedi. "I'm not going to give you any more chances," Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson told the rapper, who, since being sentenced to three years' probation, had left New York twice without authorities' permission, changed her address without permission, and forgot to tell the court about seven separate traffic summons she had received. Also, Brown has been indicted on charges that she smacked a neighbor with a cell phone. She faces counts of second and third degree assault, attempted second degree assault, and criminal possession of a weapon...namely, the cell phone, a Probation Department lawyer said Friday. The rapper could face up to a year in prison for violating her probation.

A federal bankruptcy judge has approved the sale of embattled boy band mogul Lou Pearlman's $7.1 million Orlando home, as well as a $335,000 New Jersey condo in bankruptcy proceedings, as he faces separate federal charges of defrauding a bank out of $20 million. The 53-year-old Pearlman, who launched the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync, remains jailed, after being arrested in June in Indonesia.

Thousands of mourners traveled to Modena, Italy, to pay their respects to Luciano Pavarotti Friday, filing past his open white casket in the city's cathedral, where he lay in state. The celebrated tenor died Thursday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 71.

Opera superstar Luciano Pavarotti died Thursday at his home in Modena, Italy, with his family by his side. He was 71. The legendary tenor was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and was hospitalized last month for treatment. His funeral is scheduled to be held Saturday in Modena's cathedral, the town's mayor told an Italian TV station.

After weeks of speculation, MTV has confirmed that Britney Spears will be opening the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, performing her new song, "Gimme More" from her upcoming album, due out Nov. 13. Immediately following the performance, fans will be able to download ringtones of "Gimme More," and the phrase "It's Britney, B***h," from the song's intro, through MTV Mobile.

Malawi Social worker Simon Chisale was observed leaving Madonna's London home Wednesday, presumably after assessing her and Guy Ritchie's potential to become the adoptive parents of 22-month-old David Banda. Chisale did not comment on his experience and attempted to shield his face from inquiring reporters.

A judge postponed Busta Rhymes's trial on charges of attacking two men, driving drunk, and driving with a suspended license until Nov. 7 Wednesday after lawyers for both sides said they were not ready to begin. Rhymes has already rejected a plea deal that would have sent him to jail for one year.

Luciano Pavarotti is said to be in "very serious" condition, with an Italian TV station reporting the 71-year-old tenor is unconscious and suffering from kidney failure. Pavarotti was released from the hospital last month after undergoing more than two weeks of tests and treatments. He is reportedly being treated by cancer specialists at his home in Modena.

Apple and Starbucks have paired up for a deal that allows customers to download songs from iTunes onto their computer or iPhone while inside any participating Starbucks store for no connection fee. "Imagine walking into a participating Starbucks, hearing a great song, and being able to instantly download it onto your iPod or iPhone," Apple CEO Steve Jobs said in a statement Wednesday. "We think this is very cool."

Lawyers for both Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were said to be pleased with the outcome of a closed hearing in the ex-couple's custody battle Tuesday. At a quick post-court press conference, Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan said the would-be rapper "wants as much custody time as he can get," feeling that his sons are "isolated from risks" when they're with him. Meanwhile, Spears' attorney Laura Wasser said the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services has cleared the singer of child welfare complaints. The legal eagle said that while she does not know where the complaints originated, she's determined to find out.

The Federal Way, Washington, home where "American Idol" finalist Sanjaya Malakar lived for two years during high school is up for sale for $360,000, per the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. The Malakar family is moving to Los Angeles in hopes of furthering not only Sanjaya's musical career but his sister Shyamali's too.

Bo Diddley was released from a Florida hospital Saturday after suffering a heart attack last month and having a stent inserted to improve blood flow, his publicist said Tuesday. "With his health greatly improved, Diddley is happy to be home with his family and away from the hospital food," the rep said. The 78-year-old rock legend was previously hospitalized in May after suffering a stroke.

The Game, a.k.a. Jayceon Taylor, was ordered Tuesday to stand trial on felony charges of making criminal threats, possessing a firearm in a school zone and exhibiting a firearm on the grounds of a facility for minors. The charges stem from his run-in with a member of the opposing team during a pickup basketball game at a Compton, Calif., educational center in February. The rapper was arrested in May for allegedly punching a fellow player and threatening to shoot him. Arraignment is set for Sept. 25.

Carter Albrecht, a keyboard player for Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, was fatally shot early Monday in Dallas while trying to kick down the door of his girlfriend's neighbor's house, police said. The homeowner believed a burglar was trying to break in and fired a shot through the door, killing Albrecht, 34. The case remains under investigation; no arrests have been made.

After canceling her summer tour, Kelly Clarkson will now launch her trek in support of her My December tour Oct. 14 in New York. The original "Idol" winner will hit 26 cities, before wrapping up her tour Dec. 3 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Tickets go on sale Sept. 15.

Pete Doherty missed a court appearance Tuesday...at which he was to be sentenced for a string of drug charges...because he has checked himself into rehab to take yet another shot at kicking his addictions. His case was adjourned until Oct. 2.

Usher and Tameka Foster tied the knot again Saturday, a few weeks after exchanging vows in a private civil ceremony, People reports. This time around, the couple celebrated their union with an elaborate reception in Atlanta, attended by some 200 guests.
