Top 5 Worst New Reality TV Shows of 2003

I don't see every single show on every single channel, but I do watch more TV than most, so I think I'm fairly credible on what is bad.  I especially try to catch every new show, even new reality shows, and some of those reality shows just stunk.  Some of the shows on my list have been cancelled already (or are just not coming back), but they all premiered in the calendar year of 2003.  You may disagree with my choices, and that's fine, but know what I like.  See what you think.

5. “Are You Hot?”-I have to give this show one bit of credit…it didn’t lie to us.  This show was only concerned if you were good looking or not.  The problem is that the concept quickly got old.  The “American Idol” concept may work for music, dating, comedy, and fashion, but just judging on good looks can get boring.

4. “Rich Girls”-This is what “The Simple Life” would have been if Paris and Nicole had been filmed in their natural habitat.  I could only take so much shopping and whining about being rich before I got incredibly bored with this show.

3. “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”-I understand why they did this show.  It was a hit in England, “The Surreal Life” and “Celebrity Mole” had set a precedent that people liked seeing B-list actors being tortured, and “Survivor” was still a top 10 hit.  What went wrong?  Maybe it was because ABC did what they always do when they want to quickly kill a show…play it several times a week until people are sick of it.  That worked with “Who Wants to be a Millionaire,” right?

2. “Viva La Bam”-Since “Jackass” was one of the worst shows ever put on the air, I didn’t hold a lot of hope for this show.  Why did Bam Margera decide to not only carry on the “Jackass” stupidity, but also copy another horrible MTV show, “The Tom Green Show?”

1. “Wild Boyz”-This show was not only stupid, but it was incredibly gross.  I’m surprised that the PETA people weren’t all over it.  It was a little disturbing how obsessed they were over animal genitalia.  Unfortunately, this show and “Viva La Bam” were big enough hits for MTV to order a second season for both.  I, for one, won’t be watching either.
