Top 5 Worst New TV Shows of 2003

Opinions by Shawn McKenzie 03/10/2004

I don't see every single show on every single channel, but I do watch more TV than most, so I think I'm fairly credible on what is bad.  I especially try to catch every new show, and I usually avoid the bad ones not long after I watch the first few episodes.  Some of the shows on my list have been cancelled already (or are in danger of cancellation, thank goodness), but they all premiered in the calendar year of 2003.  You may disagree with my choices, and that's fine, but know what I like.  See what you think.

5. “Eve”-See my comments about this show here.

4. “Da Ali G Show”-See my comments about this show here.

3. “Coupling”-It’s hard to believe that this show was once being groomed to replace “Friends” once it went off the air.  I like a good sex comedy, but there has to be more than just sex talk…it has to be funny too.  This proves that not everything copied from a British show works over here.  Let’s hope that their translation of the Golden Globe-winning “The Office” fairs a little better.

2. “Luis”-Luis Guzman is a great actor, so I wonder why he agreed to do this incredibly stupid show.  Was he so desperate for a leading role that he agreed to do this without seeing any scripts?  I’m glad that FOX cancelled it, but unfortunately it also brought down a great show, “Wanda at Large

1. “The Mullets”-See my comments about this show here.
